Cranmore Veterinary Centre has special facilities to hospitalize and care for birds, reptiles, snakes and other exotic species. In addition, the nursing team is very experienced in handling  these pets.

Rabbits and other ‘small furries’ are welcome and we are equipped to handle them as well.

Special facilities for birds and reptiles

Being overweight can lead to all kinds of health problems for our pets. Excess weight puts a strain  on the heart , lungs and joints to name but a few.

Our weight clinics are offered at the Church Farm, Cranmore and Upton surgeries and are led by the nurses. At these clinics your pet will be weighed every two weeks to chart his/her progress and you will be given advice on exercise and feeding. These clinics are free, so why not come along.

 Weight  clinics

Our ambulance is based at the Cranmore Centre and you may call there if you need to use this service. Although we do believe that we can offer a better level of care to your pets at the surgeries we do realize that there are times when it is not possible for you to  get your pet to one of our surgeries. In these circumstances we can arrange to make housecalls. The fee ranges from £15.00 to £25.00 in addition to our usual surgery fees.

Ambulance service

If your pet should have the misfortune to become ill or injured during the night or the weekend, help is still available. Our ChesterGates Referral Hospital is open and staffed 24 hours a day by veterinary surgeons and nurses.

Please remember that you must phone your usual branch during the normal working day and that you should call ChesterGates only out-of-hours. The contact number is 01244-853-823.
